Top seed Andy Murray won a record fifth title at Queen's Club as he battled from a set and a break down to beat Milos Raonic in Sunday's (19th June) Aegon Championships final.
Andy Murray enjoyed the perfect start to his Wimbledon preparations as he sealed a record fifth title at Queen's Club on Sunday.
The top seed came from a set and a break down against Canada's Milos Raonic to win the final 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 6-3, moving ahead of four-time winners Andy Roddick, Lleyton Hewitt, Boris Becker and John McEnroe - who was courtside watching Raonic in his new coaching role.
The final didn't start particularly well for Britain's number one though as he lost the first set with Raonic winning the first set on a tie-break.
Murray then looked in serious trouble as the Canadian took a 3 love lead in the second set but Murray picked out a superb return of serve to break back.
Raonic had not been broken in any of his previous 55 service games at the tournament, but in a remarkable turnaround, Murray's momentum then sealed another break to put himself back in contention.
Murray was very firmly back in control and a loose backhand from Raonic saw the Scot claim the second set 6-4.
There was no way back for Raonic as Murray broke for a third time at the start of the deciding set. A delightful drop shot the winner.
With the Queen's Club crowd roaring him on, Murray accelerated away to victory, securing a fourth and final break when Raonic dumped a volley in the net on the third championship point.
Murray's record fifth title at Queen's Club sets him up perfectly for Wimbledon in eight days' time, where he will start as second seed and the greatest threat to world number one Novak Djokovic.
