Conor O'Shea says he is deeply disappointed after his six-year reign in charge of Harlequins came to an end with a battling 26-19 defeat by Montpellier in the European Challenge Cup final in Lyon.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Conor O'Shea, Harlequins head coach:
"The boys will finally not have to listen to me talk about the little things and the energy that can ebb and flow in the game and those little things went Montepellier's way today - they were outstanding around that ruck area. The couple of chances we did have which can give you momentum didn't come our way. The I look at the team and 26-9 we had two options; to raise the white flag or fight. And they did what one embodies these two people on my left and right are and they fought to the bitter end and for that I am proud of them."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Conor O'Shea, Harlequins head coach:
"I think hopefully what we've done for English rugby both for Harlequins and for England has been a real positive. Are we gutted at the moment? I am gutted for these fellows because they give so much week in week out but I think now at least I can be happy that I can call these guys my friends in the future as opposed someone who they think is their boss."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Danny Care, Harlequins captain:
" We showed in patches how good we can be but it's probably a bit of the story of our season. We didn't have a full 80 minute performance today and didn't deserve it but just want to say how proud of all the lads in what's been an incredibly tough week for the club. To go out there and put on a performance like that I am really proud of them. Hopefully next year we will go one step further and win this trophy.
