Saracens head coach Mark McCall said on Monday (9th May) that his current team are "much better" than the side which lost the European Cup final two years ago, as they get ready to face Racing 92 in the European Champions Cup final in Lyon, France on Saturday (14th May)
SOUNDBITE: (English) Mark McCall, Saracens head coach (on his side’s improvements):
"Maybe the key learning from two years ago was that we weren't quite good enough and weren't quite ready when it really came to it that day. I think we've advanced as a group. We've developed our game but also just individually we're much more experienced than we were and much better than we were."
SOUNDBITE: (Engish) Alex Goode, Saracens full back (on Racing 92):
"I think they're a very physical side. They've bought well this year, people like Dan Carter and Maxime Machenaud are key components of how they play and they move them around very well. I think it's about us wanting that physical battle on the gain line against such big men, applying the pressure and being clinical really. It's pretty vague to an extent but in big games it's about applying the pressure and when you get in their half come away with points, constantly keep it ticking over and keep the momentum with you."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Mark McCall, Saracens head coach (on Racing 92):
"They're a really good team. A really good team. They've got a massive pack of forwards who are all good ball players and good athletes as well. They've got outstanding half backs, very experienced half backs and they've got real gas and wheels on the outside. They're a good team and are going to be a handful. Their defence has been in this competition anyway has been their biggest asset and we've got to find a way to break it down."
