Last season's beaten finalists Clermont Auvergne are out of the European Champions Cup, after a dramatic 37-28 defeat at home to Bordeaux-Begles on Sunday (24th January).
Last year's beaten finalists Clermont seemed in no mood for timewasting at home to Bordeaux-Begles in Pool 2 of the European Champions Cup.
It took Wales centre Jonathan Davies just 49 seconds to touch down for the opening try, before Noa Nakaitaci added their second.
A brave Bordeaux comeback started with two tries, including this from Sebastien Taofifuena to level the scores.
A penalty from scrum-half Baptiste Serin then gave Bordeaux a 17-14 advantage at half time.
But the momentum swung completely after the break when the visitors were reduced to 14 men with Sekope Kepu in the sin-bin.
Clermont took full advantage with tries from Damien Chouly and Paul Jedrasiak to regain the lead at 28-20.
Once more Bordeaux came back though, Clermont now a man down after Julien Bardy was yellow carded.
Tries from Paulin Riva and then an overlap score from Peter Saili sent Bordeaux into the lead once again.
As the match entered the final minute, Clermont were handed the gilt-edged chance to make it through to the quarter-finals - a penalty in front of the posts for a losing bonus point.
But Morgan Parra decided to run it.
His decision didn't pay off. Bordeaux snuffed out the danger, dumping last year's runners up out of the competition.
