Northampton snatch dramatic late win at home against Glasgow on Sunday (17th January)

There was to be late drama as Northampton hosted Glasgow Warriors in the European Champions Cup on Sunday.

Prior to that there was plenty of action to entertain the watching crowd and the home side took an early lead when Teimana Harrison managed to put the ball down under a mass of bodies.

However, Glasgow hit back and took the lead early in the second half thanks to a Finn Russell penalty.

In a topsy turvy game Northampton re-took the lead 10 minutes later thanks to another powerful push towards the line - Christian Day the man to score the try.

Russel kicked Glasgow level before this penalty from Start Hogg put the away side 12-15 ahead and on course for crucial win.

Now for that late drama. Glasgow's Tim Swinson was shown a yellow card for punching Mike Haywood in the 75th minute leaving the visitors a man down for the final five minutes.

And Northampton took full advantage with Harry Mallinder storming over to secure a heroic 19-15 win. A try his father enjoyed along with the cheering home crowd.
