Tom Brady reflected on New England's 27-20 win over Kansas City which saw them reach their fifth straight AFC Championship game on Saturday (16 January).
SOUNDBITE (English) Tom Brady, New England Patriots quarterback:
"I thought we had a good plan - we worked hard, studied this team. Watched a lot of film so I think the preparation was good. We had a good week of practice. I think we had plenty of plays out there that we left on the field, things that we can definitely do better. I think we can be sharper next week so that's what we're going to try to be. We're going to need it and whoever we play, they are going to be a great team."
SOUNDBITE (English) Tom Brady, New England Patriots quarterback:
"You got to grind throughout the entire year. There's only four teams playing next weekend and we're one of them. That game means a lot, so we've got to try and get as healthy as we can and see if we can put together our best game of the year."
SOUNDBITE (English) Tom Brady, New England Patriots quarterback:
"I want root. You're not rooting too hard. I think whatever happens, happens. Whether we play here or there, you're going to have to play really well. I think that's what it comes down to. They are two great football teams. We played them both this year already and it's going to take our best effort to beat them."
SOUNDBITE (English) Tom Brady, New England Patriots quarterback:
"It's good to get off to a fast start - we talked about that. You don't want to play this team from behind. They hung in there. They are a mentally tough team. They certainly don't quit out there. They played hard until the end and it took a lot to beat them. So it was a great win for our team."
