Reaction from Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy following the Packers' wildcard win over Washington
SOUNDBITE (English) Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay quarterback:
"I talked a lot over the last couple of weeks about being able to turn it on. A lot of you probably thought that was lip service but we just needed a game like this to get our mojo back. We got our confidence going. I said this week, it just takes one performance to get us going back in the right direction and believing that we can make a run."
SOUNDBITE (English) Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay quarterback:
"We won, we scored 35 points and we moved the ball a little bit better. The play-offs brings it out in all of us, it's a one-and-done mentality, focus goes up and intensity goes up. There's nothing like a road, play-off win. It's exciting."
SOUNDBITE (English) Mike McCarthy, Green Bay head coach:
"Play-off victories, they're special, each and every one of them. I'm very pleased with the performance of our football team, each of the three phases. We came out at the beginning of the game and made a few mistakes on offense that cost us. The defense did a great job of staying on course. I thought the goal-line stand was huge, the challenge and HaHa (Clinton-Dix) keeping that ball out of the endzone, holding them to a field goal and then we got going on offense. I thought Tim Masthay started off with a couple of punts there and then was able to flip the field position. That's the way you have to play, you need contributions from all three phases and we got that done tonight so an excellent win. To come in here and get that done was an excellent challenge."
