Pool B leaders USA beat Russia 3-0 in Kaliningrad as Iran came back from 2-1 down to beat Poland 3-2 in Tehran.

Whatever the occassion, Russia v the USA is always a fixture that catches the eye. The pair faced each other in pool b of the Volleyball World League in Kaliningrad. With the backing of the home crowd Russia won five points in a row early in first set. But leaders USA hit back to win the set 25-21. And they won the second 25-20.

The gap once again grew as the States took the third 25-19.

Elsewhere what about this for an atmosphere in Tehran, most of those fans were delighted too as Iran fought back from 2-1 down to beat Poland 3-2 in a thrilling match.

That very much keeps alive their hopes of reaching Brazil, they are now just two points behind the Poles.
