  • Intro:

Brazil beat China 3-0 to claim the women's volleyball World Grand Prix Finals in Japan.

Serbia finished third after coming from behind to beat Italy.

    Script:

Neither Brazil nor China had tasted defeat at the World Grand Prix Finals going into their encounter in Sapporo - both sides with four wins out of four.

It was the Brazilians who got off to a flying start - opening up an 8-2 advantage early on and never looking likely to relinquish their lead.

As China hit long, the first set was theirs 25-15.

The second set was tighter, but the Olympic champions still had the measure of their opponents - a spike from Thaisa Menezes seeing them capture the set 25-14.

China tried to mount a response and took a 11-7 lead in the third set before the Brazilians came roaring back.

Another smash from Menezes sealed it on matchpoint.

A perfect 5-0 record for Brazil - and the title was theirs.

Serbia finished third after fighting back from two sets to one down against Italy - they finished with a 3-2 record.

The United States claimed their first win of the tournament as they beat Japan in five sets - the defending champions still finished bottom of the standings in sixth.

    The hosts would finish fourth.
