Outgoing Everton manager David Moyes reflects on a 'tough week' on Friday (May 17th), after he decided to take the Manchester United job - Moyes also praised David Beckham as a 'tremendous player' after he decided to retire.

SOUNDBITE (English) David Moyes, Everton manager:

"It has been a tough week because it has meant an awful lot to me, Everton. It's been a big part of my life. Nearly all of my forties - it certainly has been. And it was tough last week. But the biggest thing I found was -I thought that the way the supporters got right behind the football club. In the second half (of the 2-0 win against West Ham) they showed the strength where Everton are and the size of football club they are. And last night (at the Everton End of Season Awards) again was emotional because it meant that I was saying cheerio to a lot of the people who are very close to me."

SOUNDBITE (English) David Moyes, Everton manager: (on whether Phil Neville should be part of the Everton coaching set up):

"Phil Neville is a great man. He has been a great player. He is a great ambassador for the club. So Phil Neville could take a job up anywhere. He is really, really good at what he does. And he has gone through his coaching badges just now so he would be a good choice for any club."

"He (David Beckham) has been a tremendous player. He has been a great ambassador. I think everybody who is English is proud of everything that David Beckham has done down the years and how he has conducted himself. I was very fortunate to play with David when he came to Preston North End. He was a great lad then. He was very humble. He really just wanted to play. It was a privilege at that time to play with him. Everyone who was in that team and was part of it still remembers him. Still wants to talk about being in a team with David Beckham. And I am no different. He was a great lad."
