Boreham Wood have made a name for themselves in the FA Cup this season with a magical run to their fifth-round tie against Everton - but one of their squad was already well-known having appeared on Love Island

FA Cup heroes Boreham Wood have a forward who once appeared on popular reality TV show Love Island.

The non-league side are gearing up to face Everton in the fifth round on Thursday (March 3) evening as the lowest ranked side still in the competition.

Amongst their squad is 24-year-old Dennon Lewis, who they signed in November last year.

He is not only an ex-Watford academy player but also a former Love Island contestant, having participated in the fifth series in 2019.

Lewis came in at the 'Casa Amor' stage but after failing in his quest to find romance he was booted out after just four days.

He had not long joined Wealdstone when he entered the villa but returned after his brief cameo to help fire them to the National League.

A haul of 11 league goals in the campaign which was cut short by the pandemic played a massive part in their promotion.

Lewis' form was so impressive that he looked set to move to then-Championship side Charlton Athletic in July 2020.

However, the £500k transfer didn't materialise and he signed a new two-year deal with Wealdstone instead.

He continued to be a regular for them but was moved to a left wing-back role at the start of this season before leaving the club.

Since his arrival at Boreham Wood, Lewis has been in and out of the side.

He has started the last two league matches for the promotion-pushing side.

However, he won't feature against Everton because he is cup-tied after playing in the fourth-qualifying round for Wealdstone.

That meant he also missed out on their upset wins against football league sides AFC Wimbledon and Bournemouth in the previous two stages.
