Juventus grow confident that Cristiano Ronaldo will stay

Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved has revealed that the club are awaiting Cristiano Ronaldo's return to training with the rest of his teammates, which will come once the Portuguese star's holidays are over.

After finishing as the Euro 2020 top scorer, the Portuguese is enjoying some down time and will report back to Juventus training later in the summer.

As Nedved claimed in an interview with DAZN, Ronaldo has expressed no intention to depart the club this summer, with his contract running until 2022. The former Juventus midfielder also revealed that Ronaldo's return to Turin is scheduled for around July 25, with Serie A set to kick off almost a month later.

Juventus' confidence about Ronaldo's future

Nedved was not the only Juventus director who talked about Ronaldo showing no signs that he wants to leave, as the club's sporting director Federico Cherubini also expressed his belief that Ronaldo will stay at the Old Lady.

"There was no sign from Ronaldo about the possibility of leaving," said Cherubini.

"He did not give us any sign that he wants to leave. We are talking about a player who last year scored 36 goals in 44 games.

"Numbers do not say everything, but they hide many realities. We are happy that. When his well-deserved rest period is over, he will join the team for pre-season."

Another chance to win the Champions League

Following a below-par season, Juventus dismissed Andrea Pirlo and convinced former coach Massimiliano Allegri to return to the club.

Under Allegri, Juventus reached two Champions League finals in the past, but didn't managed to lift the much-coveted trophy.

This was one of the reasons behind Ronaldo's move to the Old Lady, but Ronaldo has failed to lead the club to European glory as he previously did four times with Real Madrid and another time at Manchester United.

It remains to be seen whether he will manage to do so next season under Allegri, as Juventus directors grow confident that their star will stay put.
