Arsenal’s transfer window is showing no signs of slowing down after the signing of Nuno Tavares from Benfica this week.

Tavares, 21, arrived as a back-up left-back to Kieran Tierney for a fee in the region of £7million.

Now manager Mikel Arteta, alongside technical director Edu, is ramping up his pursuit of a number of players which the club has been linked with this summer.

The Gunners are expected to splash out with a huge revamp of the squad needed as a number of players such as David Luiz and Matteo Guendouzi depart.

They will need to sign quality players if they are to secure their dreams of a Champions League spot next season, but appear to now be making ground after a quiet start to the window.

Daily Star Sport has taken a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news below.

James Maddison could leave Leicester with Arsenal set to offer him a whopping £200,000 a week

The Gunners are expected to make a major move for Leicester City playmaker James Maddison in the coming weeks.

Trusted Arsenal transfer source AFC Bell claimed on twitter that the North Londoners will offer the player a four-plus-one year contract and a salary of £200,000 which will double what he is receiving at Leicester.

Arsenal’s interest has been well received by the player and his camp, with Arteta viewing the 24-year-old as his primary target this summer.

Arteta is reportedly aware of the difficulty of pulling off the transfer due to Maddison’s wages and the large fee Leicester will demand, but does not believe it is out of reach.

Maddison would likely become a first-team regular in the Arsenal set-up following Martin Odegaard’s return to Real Madrid following his loan spell.
