Southend’s Simeon Akinola is doubtful for his side’s Sky Bet League Two home match against Tranmere.
The striker was substituted with a back injury in the goalless draw at Oldham on Saturday.
Fellow striker Nile Ranger will miss the remainder of the season due to a groin injury.
Goalkeeper Mark Oxley looks likely to remain absent, while Sam Hart, Terrell Egbri, James Olayinka and Jacob Mellis are out but closing in on returns.
Tranmere striker James Vaughan faces an extended spell on the sidelines.
Vaughan has undergone surgery on a knee injury sustained in Tranmere’s 3-1 win at Leyton Orient.
Kieron Morris is set to return after missing the defeat against Crawley.
But midfielder Otis Khan will be missing once again as he continues his recovery from the hamstring problem which has kept him out of the last five games.
