ARSENAL stars are already 'discussing' the potential arrival of Julian Brandt in the dressing room, reports claim.

The Gunners are being linked with Dortmund's 35-cap German international, after technical director Edu admitted the need for more creativity within Mikel Arteta's squad.

They aren't short of targets, with Houssem Aouar and Emi Buendia having been mentioned.

But according to The Athletic, Arsenal have cooled their interest in the former, having possibly found a new key creator to try and sign.

They believe that Brandt, 24, could be the man to solve their goal shortage, despite having fallen out of favour at Dortmund.

And Bild journalist Christian Falk has taken it one step further, by claiming that Gunners stars are already talking about being joined by Brandt.

He said: "We know that the Arsenal scouts have already made important moves and the club is also actively discussing it in the dressing room.

"We also know he has connections [at Arsenal], youth director Per Mertesacker has the same agents as him, and he is a bit tempted to come to London. I could very well imagine it coming true.

"Whether a transfer will take place is still a bit open, the winter (January) is perhaps a bit too short notice so it could be a summer thing."

Brandt has started six of Dortmund's 13 Bundesliga games this term.

The former Bayer Leverkusen star is competing for minutes with young guns Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and Gio Reyna - as well as Marco Reus and Thorgan Hazard.

Overall, he has netted eight times and provided 14 assists in 64 appearances for the German club, who currently sit fifth in the table.

Arsenal have also been linked with out-of-favour Real Madrid star Isco.

Another target Dominik Szoboszlai, however, has opted to join RB Leipzig instead.
