Three Tottenham stars Mauricio Pochettino could sign for PSG and leave Jose Mourinho angry

Mauricio Pochettino is set to be named as Thomas Tuchel's replacement at Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain are undergoing big changes after sacking Thomas Tuchel on Christmas Eve with Mauricio Pochettino expected to come in as his replacement and the Argentine could well look to raid former club Tottenham in the upcoming transfer windows. Pochettino has been out of work since being sacked from Spurs in November 2019.

He's been strongly linked with taking over at Manchester United and Real Madrid among others, but it now looks as though PSG will be his next destination.

If Pochettino is confirmed as the new PSG head coach, he will take over a side expected to be perennial winners in Ligue 1.

But the biggest target Tuchel was unable to achieve was to win the Champions League, although he did come close last year after reaching the final.

Pochettino is a different style of manager to Tuchel and would likely want to begin building his own team, and Express Sport takes a look at three of his former favourites at Tottenham who he might push to try and sign.

Dele Alli

PSG were strongly linked with a move for Dele Alli in the summer transfer window with the midfielder falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho.

The French champions were only willing to discuss a possible loan deal though and Spurs ultimately shut down negotiations.

Their stance might change if Pochettino takes over though as Alli thrived under the guidance of his former boss.

Pochettino brought Alli to Spurs as one of his first signings in charge and the attacking midfielder established himself as an England international.

Alli was openly upset at the sacking of Pochettino and the chance of a reunion in Paris could be too good to turn down.

Davinson Sanchez

Davinson Sanchez is another favourite of Pochettino's who has fallen out of favour under Mourinho.

Reports have suggested Tottenham are ready to sell the 24-year-old in January for alternative targets and he could be available at a reasonable price for someone who's still yet to reach his prime.

PSG have quality centre-backs already at the club in Marquinhos, Thilo Kehrer and Presnel Kimpembe, but Tuchel often deployed a three-man defence and injuries could easily leave him short of options.

Pochettino may well want to bring in someone he can trust in defence though and Sanchez would fit seamlessly into PSG's squad.

Harry Kane

There wasn't any player who blossomed more under Pochettino than Harry Kane. The Argentine coach made Kane his No 1 striker back in 2014 and his faith was repaid in abundance with the forward going on to break numerous records.

Kane has gone from strength-to-strength under Mourinho this season, but he admitted earlier this year that he would consider leaving his boyhood club to improve his chances of winning trophies.

Spurs currently look as though they're capable of challenging for their first piece of silverware since 2008 but Kane's reaching a point in his career where he will be wanting to play at the very top.

Any move for Kane would almost certainly depend on one of Kylian Mbappe or Neymar leaving PSG as it would take well over £100million to prise the England captain away from Tottenham.

But if one of them does leave and Pochettino is in charge, Kane will almost certainly be at the top of his wishlist.
