Manchester United transfer news is hotting up after the capture of Donny van de Beek - but who else on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's shortlist?

Donny van de Beek became Manchester United's first signing of the summer following a £40million move from Ajax. The 23-year-old has penned a five-year contract at Old Trafford, providing manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with another option in midfield.

Van de Beek said: "I cannot begin to explain how incredible an opportunity it is to join a club with such an amazing history.

"I would like to thank everyone at Ajax, I grew up there and I will always have a special bond with the club.

"I am now ready to take the next step in my career and perform at the highest level and there is no higher standard than Manchester United."

Solskjaer will also be hoping executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward can secure more of his targets before the transfer window shuts in October.

Who is on Man Utd's transfer shortlist?

Jadon Sancho, Borussia Dortmund

United were linked with Sancho well before the transfer window opened.

The 20-year-old is believed to be Solskjaer's top target but the saga doesn't look like reaching a conclusion just yet.

Sancho appears to be keen on the move, but the transfer fee hs proved to be the stumbling.

Dortmund are holding firm at £108million but United seem reluctant to pay that much up front.

Thiago Alcantara, Bayern Munich

Thiago has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.

But with the Reds hesitating over the midfielder's fee, United are said to have entered the race.

It's even claimed Solskjaer has spoken directly to the 29-year-old about a possible switch to Old Trafford, although his wage demands could be a problem.

Kalidou Koulibaly, Napoli

United are reportedly in the market for a new centre-back to partner Harry Maguire.

Koulibaly, 29, is considered one of the best in the business and is said to among the targets United are looking at.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed the player can leave if the right offer comes in, with Manchester City also said be interested.

Josh King, Bournemouth

United attempted to bring King to Old Trafford in January but the move was blocked by Bournemouth and United instead signed Odion Ighalo on loan.

But the 28-year-old has not given up hope of one day going back to the club that developed him as an academy player.

"I will not lie, because I really wanted to go there in January, but what happened, happened," King told Norwegian outlet TV2.

"I know why things happened. We’ll just have to wait and see. There is a lot that is open.

"I have a dream to play in the Champions League.

"Whether it will happen this season or in two years, I do not know. But I have a dream about it that all boys have.
