Manchester United's Squad Has Been Ranked From 'Star Player' To 'Sell Immediately'

Manchester United's first-team squad have been ranked from 'star player' to 'sell immediately' - with seven men listed in the bottom tier.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were eliminated from the FA Cup last night following a 3-1 defeat in the semi-final to Chelsea.

It ended United's 19-match unbeaten run and costly mistakes from David de Gea ensured it was a miserable night at Wembley.

GIVEMESPORT have now ranked the Red Devils' players into six separate tiers and the Spanish shot stopper finds himself in 'sell immediately.'

Check out the rankings below.

Manchester United's Squad Has Been Ranked From 'Star Player' To 'Sell Immediately'

Star player: Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford

Starting XI: Harry Maguire, Mason Greenwood, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly

Squad player: Fred, Sergio Romero, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Victor Lindelof, Odion Ighalo, Axel Tuanzebe, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Diogo Dalot

Potential: Tahith Chong, Brandon Williams, James Garner

Look to sell: Luke Shaw, Juan Mata

Sell immediately: David de Gea, Jesse Lingard, Daniel James, Andreas Pereira, Phil Jones, Lee Grant, Angel Gomes

It comes as no surprise that midfield duo Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba are ranked as two of the club's star players.

Fernandes has transformed United since his arrival back in January while World Cup winner Pogba is still the club's most expensive ever signing.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are also key men in attack and have begun to show glimmers of a deadly partnership.

Below them is the 'Starting XI' tier which features club captain Harry Maguire, fellow defenders Eric Bailly and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as well as teenage sensation Mason Greenwood.

Maguire arrived from Leicester City for £80 million last summer to make him the world's most expensive defender.

He has improved United's defence on the whole despite a number of erratic moments.

A staggering nine players find themselves in the 'Squad player' tier, which highlights the work Solskjaer still needs to do in the transfer window.

Down in the 'Sell immediately' tier however, you'll find de Gea alongside Jesse Lingard, Dan James, Andreas Pereira, Phil Jones, Lee Grant and Angel Gomes.

Despite many United fans being furious at de Gea's performance, his manager said he will still stick by him.

When asked if he'll stick with the 29-year-old, Solskjaer told BBC Sport: "Of course. We have been unbeaten for 19 games and both Sergio [Romero] and David have played really well in that run.

"We have kept clean sheets, and on Thursday night, he made some great saves against Crystal Palace. I see where you're coming from and everyone is going to make headlines on David, but he knows he should have saved that one.

"I can't speak for his confidence but he is mentally very strong. Everyone has to perform and has a chance to stake a claim every time they play.

"It is hard for a keeper to make amends, apart from David making two or three fantastic saves."
