Queen Elizabeth II was a surprise face inside The Den tonight for Millwall ’s Championship clash with Swansea behind closed doors.

One fan paid to get a cardboard cut-out of Her Majesty included in the stands for this evening’s match live on Sky Sports.

Supporters cannot attend themselves in person due to the coronavirus crisis, and some are being inventive following the initiative from clubs.

Some teams in England’s top two flights have personalised cut-outs in seats so fans can still feel like they are cheering on the players for the season run-in.

The Queen was suddenly spotted today at Millwall, and her presence comes off the back of other famous faces being seen at Elland Road.

Championship rivals Leeds United have also had cardboard cut-outs in their seats for matches lately.

Last week, a cut-out of Osama Bin Laden was eventually removed after pictures spread on social media.

Over the weekend, Tiger King’s Joe Exotic was the latest face at Elland Road as the Netflix star saw Leeds’ 3-0 win over promotion rivals Fulham.

Now, Queen Elizabeth II has joined them in being sneaked into the stands at a football game.

The showdown between Millwall and Swansea tonight is key in the race for a play-off spot in the Championship.

They went into tonight's match sitting 11th and 10th respectively in the table.
