Leroy Sane featured in an in-house friendly at the Etihad as he prepares to make his Manchester City return
LEROY SANE put himself in the frame for his Manchester City return by playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the Etihad.
The German winger has not featured in the first team since he injured his cruciate ligament in the Community Shield in August.
He continues to be linked with a move to Bayern Munich – although City are in no mood to sell him on the cheap.
Pep Guardiola clearly plans to use him over the next few weeks though despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.
City had an in-house friendly at their deserted stadium to get a feel for it ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Arsenal.
And the £37 million man was among those pictured taking part in the warm-up – a sight City fans have waited a long time for.
His injury may have cost City millions as they valued him in the £140 million bracket last summer – when he still had two years left on his deal.
He is now down to his last 12 months and is believed to be keen on a return to Germany – although his current club are ready to dig their heels in.
