Chelsea are set to fight their rivals for the signing of Leon Bailey this summer.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is lining up an ï¿¡85million move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Jamaican international Leon Bailey after watching him destroy Rangers in the Europa League.

Bailey, 22, who has three years left on his contract with the Bundesliga outfit has also attracted interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.

While Bayern Munich have been keen on Bailey for the two seasons but Bayer are reluctant to do business with them and would rather sell to a Premier League club.

Chelsea had scouts paying particular attention to Bailey when he scored against Rangers on Thursday night, and Lampard is ready to make a move.

Lampard is set for a significant overhaul of his squad this summer with older stars like Willian who interests Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur as well as Pedro set to leave the club.

Lampard has built his Chelsea side this season around younger players like Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Bailey, who started his career in Belgium with Genk before moving to Germany three years ago, fits the same profile, which is why Lampard is ready to pull the trigger and make a move.

Bailey has netted five times and provided one assist in the Bundesliga this season.

And with Willian and Pedro likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, he could be the perfect addition.

The Brazilian has hinted that if he make a Chelsea exit it would likely be to stay in London.

“I have played for Chelsea for more than six years now, and I can honestly say that I am very happy here,” he wrote in a column for The Players’ Tribune last month.

“If you ask my wife if she wants to leave London, she’ll say no.”

That has led to speculation the winger could make a switch to Arsenal or Tottenham to reunite with former boss Jose Mourinho.

The Special One was constantly linked with Willian when he was in charge at Manchester United.

And he could be an experienced head available for free in the summer that Tottenham need as they are expected to overhaul their squad.
