Shaun Brisley will miss play-off chasing Port Vale’s home clash with Scunthorpe.
The defender has been ruled out for up to five weeks after hurting his knee in a collision against Walsall.
Defender Mitch Clark is still suspended after being sent-off in the win at Forest Green.
Luke Joyce is on the verge of a suspension after accumulating nine yellow cards for the season, so the midfielder will look to avoid another booking.
Scunthorpe’s Harrison McGahey misses out due to concussion, while Levi Sutton – expected back in training on Friday – could return to contention after recovering from the same condition.
Goalkeeper Ian Lawlor is nearing a return from a groin injury and will be assessed ahead of the match, but Ryan Colclough is out due to a back injury.
Yann Songo’o has returned from a recent knee injury. He was named on the bench against Forest Green and got some playing time for the Under-23s against Hull.
Junior Brown returned to training recently after suffering a medial ligament problem but is expected to miss out. Jordan Clarke is likely to be absent again but could return sooner than expected from a calf injury. Regan Slater (ankle) and Kgosi Ntlhe (Achilles) remain out.
