Crewe facing defensive injury concerns ahead of FA Cup meeting with Barnsley

Crewe have problems in defence ahead of their FA Cup clash against Barnsley.
Eddie Nolan (back) and Olly Lancashire (Achilles) are still injured and look set to miss out again while Harry Pickering (hamstring) missed the victory against Carlisle on January 1.
Nolan has been absent for three games with a nerve problem but some good news for Alex is that he does not require an operation.
However, it is hoped Pickering will be available as Crewe, in the automatic promotion places in League Two, look to reach round four for the first time since 2002.
Barnsley head coach Gerhard Struber will probably make changes to his team.
The Tykes saw their seven-game unbeaten run in the Championship ended at Derby on Thursday night and the Austrian could freshen up his side.
Elliot Simoes’ goal at Pride Park might earn him a starting place while the likes of Mamadou Thiam, Jacob Brown and Kenny Dougall are also options.
Barnsley will be looking to reach the fourth round for the first time since 2013.
