John-Joe O’Toole returns to the Burton squad for the FA Cup clash against his former club Northampton.
The midfielder, who played for the Cobblers from 2014 before making the move to the Pirelli Stadium last summer, has completed a six-match ban and is available for the first time in a month.
Burton could still be without Kieran Wallace (illness), Jevan Anderson (thigh) and Nathan Broadhead (hamstring).
The Brewers will be hoping to reach the fourth round for the first time since 2011.
Northampton will check on the fitness of midfielder Alan McCormack.
The 35-year-old has missed the last two matches with an unspecified injury but he has resumed training this week.
Shaun McWilliams (knee) and Harry Smith (ankle) both face up to three months out after suffering injuries during the Cobblers’ defeat at Crawley on Boxing Day.
Northampton are playing in the third round for the first time since 2016.
