Notts County climb into play-off places

Notts County moved into the National League play-off places as Wes Thomas scored the only goal in a 1-0 win away at Solihull Moors.
The visitors had the best of the early play and midway through the first half had a good chance as Kyle Wooton headed Michael Doyle’s cross over the bar.
Solihull tried to respond in audacious fashion as Jamey Osborne went for goal with a free-kick from just inside the County half but he too cleared the crossbar.
County had been the better side for the vast majority of the game and they were eventually rewarded in the 72nd minute as Wooton hustled and bustled before squaring the ball for Thomas to score at the far post.
Solihull almost snatched a point right at the death thanks to a Daniel Wright volley but Sam Slocombe was on hand to make a brilliant save.
