Manchester United receive demand from Erling Haaland ahead of possible deal

Manchester United might have to guarantee Erling Haaland a regular starting berth if he is to quite Red Bull Salzburg for Old Trafford in January.

Sky Sports Italia’s Fabrizio Romano has revealed that United are one of four clubs to have submitted formal bids for the Norwegian which could provoke a bidding war.

The Red Devils have the advantage of Haaland having played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde, but that might not be enough.

Romano wrote on Twitter: “He’s going to decide soon with his family and [Mino] Raiola.

“Ole knows he wants to play. He wants to be a starter. That will be the key of his next move.”

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has six-man transfer shortlist

Frank Lampard could have a six-man shortlist to choose from as he searches for a new striker in January.

The Blues are looking to secure back-up for Tammy Abraham with Olivier Giroud set to leave over frustration at a lack of playing time.

The Telegraph have now named four of the six players that the club might pursue, which includes a Premier League regular.

Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho and Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha are joined by Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey and Villareal’s Samuel Chukwueze.

Mikel Arteta has been informed of Arsenal’s January transfer plans

The 37-year-old is said to be in talks with his former club as he considers leaving his coaching role at Manchester City to replace Unai Emery in north London.

The former Gunners captain could pen a three-and-a-half year deal at the Emirates as he tries to find their former glory, but he might not be able to rely on incoming deals.

The Daily Star have reported that the club are not looking to make waves in the upcoming January transfer window after their spree in the summer, with £72million signing Nicolas Pepe underperforming so far.

The report adds that Arsenal chiefs see the next month as an opportunity to cut down on their current squad, with Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi both linked with moves away.

Jadon Sancho nears Borussia Dortmund exit as youngster continues to shine

Jadon Sancho’s red hot form continued with a goal and an assist in Tuesday’s 3-3 draw with Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig.

The 19-year-old has consistently proved that he has what it takes to succeed at the highest level since turning down the offer of a new contract at Manchester City in 2017, and could return to England over the next six weeks.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona are a handful of the teams said to be looking at a possible deal, with his current side looking for a replacement.

German publication Bild have claimed that Lucian Favre’s bosses have lined up 19-year-old Sao Paulo forward Antony ahead of Sancho’s possible departure.

Man Utd decide Paul Pogba transfer stance for January as Real Madrid sniff around star

Manchester United are set to force Paul Pogba to stay at Old Trafford despite continued interest from European giants Real Madrid. Despite claims from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he remains an important member of the squad, Zindine Zidane is set to try and test their resolve in January.

The midfielder outlined this intention to leave United in the summer despite netting 16 goals in all competitions last season, citing a desire to find a new challenge.

Super agent Mino Raiola then backed up his client’s statement by revealing that talks were ongoing, but eventually they led to nothing.

The Daily Mail have now reported that the Red Devils are keen to take the same approach in January, with the player’s return from injury imminent.

Rangers hero Ally McCoist predicts Alfredo Morelos exit and Jermain Defoe deal

Rangers fans could be forced to wave goodbye to Alfredo Morelos in the near future, but they should keep hold of him through January. That is the view of club hero Ally McCoist, who doesn’t think that a new deal for Jermain Defoe will have any impact.

When asked if Defoe’s rumoured new deal could hint that Morleos will leave, the ex-Scotland striker told talkSPORT: “Not necessarily.

“It means Defoe and Rangers fans are happy. He is happy at the club, he clearly is.

“He’s doing very well, the fact he has not had more game time is because of the form of Morelos.

“I think Morelos will be away in the summer.”
