Tranmere are hopeful Rushian Hepburn-Murphy will make a swift recovery for the visit of Accrington.
Hepburn-Murphy, the England Under-20 striker on loan from Aston Villa, scored in the midweek Leasing.com Trophy victory over Manchester United’s youngsters before leaving the field on a stretcher.
But Hepburn posted a positive message on social media on Thursday and could make the Rovers squad, although defender Kane Wilson remains out as he completes a three-match ban.
Liam Ridehalgh, Corey Taylor and Morgan Ferrier should return after being rested in midweek, but Ishmael Miller, Evan Gumbs, Mark Ellis and Ollie Banks seem set to miss out again through injury.
Accrington are without the suspended Seamus Conneely as Stanley return to action following the 7-1 thrashing of Bolton two weeks ago.
But teenager Aji Alese, on loan from West Ham, is available after picking up a knock on England Under-19 duty, and fellow defender Jerome Opoku is also back to full fitness.
Sean McConville and Phil Edwards have shrugged off minor injuries, although Zaine Francis-Angol remains sidelined.
Defender Callum Johnson could return to the starting line-up after missing the Bolton win through suspension.
