The first third of this Premier League season has given clubs and managers plenty to think about heading into the January transfer window.
With Liverpool riding high at the top of the table, Jurgen Klopp will be weighing up whether or not to add to his squad as they go for glory both at home and abroad, especially seeing as the Reds failed to make a major signing in the summer.
Manchester City might think that an addition or two will help them close the gap to the leaders, while Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers might think that one or two signings could consolidate a Champions League place.
Chelsea could yet be allowed to sign players depending on the result of the appeal against their ban, while Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham could all look to buy to get back in touch with the top four.
But who are all those sides and more getting linked with?
Follow all the latest as it happens throughout the day right here with Starsport...
Sean Dyche on Danny Drinkwater future
Burnley boss Sean Dyche says he doesn’t know if Danny Drinkwater will still be at the club in January.
Chelsea loanee Drinkwater has barely featured since joining the club in the summer, and was involved in a fight in nightclub in September.
Dyche told reporters:
“We haven’t really seen him.
“Of course we know him, we know what he does in training we’ve seen that but it’s the games, everyone gets judged on the games, I think he’s just part of that thinking.
“So I think it’s too early to worry about that, we want to see him get fit first and get on the pitch at some point and then take it from there.”
Llorente snubbed Boca switch
Fernando Llorente says he turned down Boca Juniors in order to join Napoli.
The former Tottenham forward, who appeared as a substitute in his side’s 1-1 draw at Anfield on Wednesday, told ESPN:
“They tried to sign me last summer. But I wanted to continue to play in Europe”
Paulo Dybala wants Juventus stay
Juventus star Paulo Dybala says he wants to stay in Turin having come close to leaving last summer, according to Tuttosport.
The Argentinean forward was linked with both Tottenham and Manchester United, but has now rediscovered his form in Italy.
Julian Draxler open to PSG stay
Germany winger Julian Draxler is happy to stay at PSG beyond the expiration of his current contract.
Draxler deal in Paris will run out at the end of next season, but he told SPOX he’s happy to stay, saying:
“I have a contract until 2021 and it is possible I prolong my engagement with the PSG.”
Jadon Sancho benched for breach of discipline
Jadon Sancho seems to be on the way out of Borussia Dortmund, with a host of clubs queuing up for the England international.
Bild claim that a transfer is now looking more likely after Sancho was late for a team meeting prior to their clash with Barcelona, and he was subsequently benched.
Real Madrid star pens new deal
Federico Valverde has signed a new deal to keep him at Real Madrid until 2025, according to Marca.
The 21-year-old has been one of the standout stars of Real’s season, and has established himself as a key player for Zinedine Zidane.
Kylian Mbappe thanks Real Madrid fans
Kylian Mbappe has got tongues wagging with an Instagram post thanking Real Madrid fans for the reception they gave him on Tuesday night.
The French forward scored PSG’s first goal in their 2-2 draw at the Bernabeu, and was applauded off the pitch after the game.
Nuno no go, says Patricio
Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio says it is important that the club keep hold of Nuno amid supposed interest from Arsenal.
The Portuguese boss has been tipped to replace under-fire Unai Emery, who could be sacked if the Gunners don’t beat Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday.
Speaking ahead of their Europa clash with Braga, Patricio said:
“It’s very important to keep Nuno at the club, not only for the players but for the club as well.
“Stability is important at any club. Nuno is an outstanding coach and he’s also a leader.”
No Everton move for River Plate star
River Plate forward Rafael Santos Borre won’t be joining Everton, his agent has told Sport Witness.
The Blues were linked with a move for the striker who helped his side to their second successive Copa Libertadores final, but the Colombian won’t be moving to Merseyside.
Man Utd and Everton given hope on defender
Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu’s contract talks with the La Liga club are “at a standstill” according to the club’s sporting director Miguel Angel Gomez.
And that, via Sport Witness, could be music to the ears of both Manchester United and Everton, who have been keeping tabs on the Ghanaian.
