Unai Emery faces a fight to turn things around and keep his job at Arsenal.

Unai Emery issued a short but sweet response, when asked what he makes of the speculation linking Nuno Espirito Santo and Massimiliano Allegri with his job.

"My future is today and tomorrow,” said the Spaniard.

Emery was speaking ahead of tomorrow night’s Europa League clash with Frankfurt.

It’s been a difficult week for the Gunners boss following Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Southampton.

The result means its just one win in eight matches for Arsenal, as pressure continues to mount on Emery, who fans believe is accountable.

“The club is supporting me. Everyone responsible in that area is backing me,” Emery added.

“My job is to prepare the match tomorrow, to look only at the match tomorrow.”

The Arsenal boss believes his players are still playing for him despite their poor patch of form.

When asked whether he can win supporters back over, Emery claimed he is not looking beyond tomorrow’s encounter.

“I feel strong with that support but I know my responsibility is to change the situation. We need to recover our confidence,” he said.

“I know we need to improve. Throughout my career when I lose I do not feel good. But I am feeling that responsibility to come back. But every day with the players I enjoy it, because I love that work.

“Of course the players believe in my tactics. They have shown that. In my career over 15 years I had some situations like this . In every club - in Almeria, in Valencia, in Sevilla. Every coach will have bad moments. Usually my career has been going up – I can separate moments like that.”

Massimiliano Allegri has been linked with the position and remains the most high-profile coach currently out of work.

He was interviewed for the job back in 2018 when the club were looking to replace Arsene Wenger, but didn’t get the job and stayed on for another season with Juventus.

Eddie Howe, Rafael Benitez and Julian Nagelsmann are amongst others linked with the hot-seat, should the board decide to axe Emery.

The hierarchy are expected to stand by him for now in hope that he can turn things around.
