Wigan will check on midfielder Lee Evans ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match against Brentford.
The Wales international has not featured for the Latics since the start of October because of a calf problem.
Defender Charlie Mulgrew is carrying a hamstring problem which has seen him sit out the last two games.
Forward Josh Windass (calf) also continues to be assessed, having last played in the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest last month.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank reported no fresh selection concerns following last weekend’s defeat by Huddersfield.
Bees defender Luca Racic is stepping up his recovery after being out since August with match action for the Brentford B side in La Manga, along with midfielder Fredrik Hammar.
Nikos Karelis, though, remains sidelined after the Greek striker suffered a knee problem against Millwall last month.
Forward Sergio Canos (knee) continues his own long-term recovery.
