Eastleigh’s Hollands holds up Hartlepool as sides share spoils

Danny Hollands headed an equaliser as Eastleigh came from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Hartlepool.
Hollands struck in the 71st minute to earn the hosts a point they thoroughly deserved for their second-half pressure.
Gime Toure put Hartlepool in front after 12 minutes, doing well to make space for himself before bending a shot into the far corner.
Eastleigh should have been level early in the second half when they were awarded a penalty, but Ben Killip dived low to his right to keep out Ben Williamson’s effort.
The hosts kept pressing and Sam Smart had an effort cleared off the line before Hollands was unable to get the right direction on his header.
But the midfielder made no mistake shortly after, nodding home at the near post from Jack Payne’s delivery to bring the scores level.
Eastleigh pushed forward in search of a winner, but Hartlepool held on for a point.
