- Arsenal are optimistic of signing Kieran Tierney, Wilfried Zaha and one more player

- Tottenham have been rejecting all approaches for right-back Kyle Walker-Peters

Aubameyang and Lacazette Arsenal futures

Arsenal will not be selling Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette to finance their deal for Nicolas Pepe.

BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein said: “I’m told that this will not mean a significant departure.

"The likes of Aubameyang, Lacazette, will not be leaving Arsenal this summer to help finance this deal.

"But yeah you can safely assume that Wilfried Zaha won’t be coming into Arsenal if this deal doesn’t get done.

"Of course they admire him and he’s been a target.

"The asking price was similarly high and what we don’t know is what it would have taken in an initial instalment this summer to get Wilfried Zaha.

"Although the two players are around a similar fee, you can guarantee that Crystal Palace would have wanted to see more of that up front than perhaps Lille have done with Pepe.”

West Ham confident over Marega move

West Ham believe they can see off Newcastle in the battle to sign Moussa Marega from Porto.

Marega, 27, is viewed as the ideal back-up option at the London Stadium and St James’ Park.

But the Mirror say West Ham are confident of beating Newcastle to his signature.

The Hammers have limited funds left to spend on further arrivals, having also paid £24m for Spanish playmaker Pablo Fornals.

However, £8m was received from Sassuolo for midfielder Pedro Obiang this week, with that money going towards Pellegrini’s budget.

Whether cash-strapped West Ham can strike a cheaper deal than £27m or potentially some kind of loan agreement, though, remains to be seen.

Man Utd envious over Liverpool

Manchester United are envious of Liverpool’s transfer for Virgil van Dijk as they continue their pursuit of Harry Maguire.

They are taking into consideration Van Dijk’s transfer to Liverpool in January 2018.

The Dutchman arrived at Anfield for a world-record fee for a centre-back at £75m.

Liverpool understood that they were paying over the odds but were desperate to boost their defence - like United are now.

It has worked out brilliantly for them, though, with the former Celtic star leading them to Champions League glory and is now the favourite to win the Ballon d’Or.

According to the Evening Standard, United look enviously at the Reds for pulling off that deal and regard the mammoth fee as a bargain.

That is set to have an impact on their own discussions for Maguire, though they are aware that the Yorkshireman is yet to reach Van Dijk’s level.

Pepe to Arsenal done by Monday

Arsenal are set to complete the club-record signing of Nicolas Pepe from Lille for £72m within the next 48 hours.

All that is left to sort is final details between Arsenal and Pepe’s representatives.

But it is not anticipated there will be any delays to the move as BBC Sport say a transfer is expected in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Pepe is subsequently set to be an Arsenal player by Monday.

Arsenal are just waiting on a final decision from Nicolas Pepe as they hope to sign the Lille star ahead of Napoli.

The Gunners are said to be willing to hand Pepe a five-year contract to lure him to north London.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are only awaiting the green light from Pepe following their £72m bid.

The Gunners are said to be doing everything they can to sign the Ivory Coast international ahead of the new Premier League season.

Man Utd make fresh Eriksen enquiry

Manchester United have contacted Tottenham over the transfer of Christian Eriksen.

According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, the Old Trafford outfit have opened fresh talks with Tottenham over the signing of Danish playmaker Eriksen.

He tweeted: "Manchester United had a new contact with Tottenham for Eriksen."

It is believed that Tottenham will demand £70m for the 27-year-old, less than half of what United are asking Real Madrid to pay for Paul Pogba.

Villa ahead of Newcastle in Wilson race

Aston Villa have the advantage over Newcastle in the race to land Harry Wilson from Liverpool.

It is believed the Reds are not keen on loaning the attacking midfielder out again following his spell with Derby last term in the Championship.

A £25m price-tag has been put on the 22-year-old, and ex-Premier League star Danny Mills feels Villa are frontrunners to land him.

Mills told Football Insider: “Where’s he likely to go? Aston Villa is down the road, played at Derby, it’s not too far away. He could still live in the Liverpool area, that could play a part.

"I think it will come down to the fact of where he is considered more likely to get first-team football and more regular first-team football.

"He will have no allegiance to Newcastle, he will have no allegiance to Aston Villa – he will clearly have an allegiance to Liverpool – but he will just want to go and play football and do the best he possibly can.”

Arsenal make bank-breaking Pepe proposal

Arsenal have gone all out to land Nicolas Pepe as Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri claims a £72m bid has been tabled to Lille, which would meet the French club’s valuation.

And Arsenal are ready to hand Pepe a contract worth £4.5m a year.

Additionally, it is suggested Arsenal would also fork out £9m in agent fees to help get the deal done.

That would mean £81m would be spent on signing Pepe ahead of their rivals, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Napoli all keen on the Ligue 1 goalscorer too.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio also claims Arsenal have given Pepe’s representatives guarantees on wages and commission fees.

As a result, Pepe’s people are said to be prioritising the player’s switch to Arsenal now ahead of Napoli.

Fernandes set for Man Utd medical?

Manchester United are set to put Sporting Lisbon ace Bruno Fernandes through a medical, it has been claimed.

According to Corriere dello Sport, a €70m (£63m) agreement has been reached with Sporting Lisbon for the Portugal international.

And it is claimed he is ready to land in Manchester to undergo medical tests.

He is reportedly unlikely to be the only midfield arrival this summer.

Corriere dello Sport claim United are in talks with Lazio over a potential deal for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Despite the reports in Italy, Starsport understands Fernandes would only emerge as a target for the Red Devils if Pogba leaves Old Trafford.

Three more signings at Arsenal?

Arsenal are confident of completing three more signings before the transfer window slams shut.

There have been three new arrivals at the Emirates Stadium this summer - Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos and William Saliba - and Unai Emery hopes to take the total to six.

Despite having a limited transfer budget to play with, the Arsenal boss is eager for an impressive flourish before the August 8 deadline.

Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney and Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha are Emery’s top targets, with less than two weeks left of this window.

According to The Independent, Arsenal are quietly optimistic about signing the two players plus one more new face.

Arsenal’s other target is likely to be a central defender, who can join the club now amid uncertainty over Laurent Koscielny’s future.

Tottenham shun Walker-Peters approaches

Tottenham have been rejecting enquiries for Kyle Walker-Peters this summer, according to The Sun.

The 22-year-old is set to start the new season as Spurs’ only available right-back.

Kieran Trippier has been sold to Atletico Madrid, while Serge Aurier’s pre-season has been delayed due to his international duty with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Crystal Palace, Brighton and RB Leipzig have all asked about Walker-Peters.

But Mauricio Pochettino wants him to compete for a first-team place this term.

Chelsea fans criticise Hazard decision after Real humbling

Chelsea fans are offering Eden Hazard a way out of his Real Madrid “nightmare” after their former star was on the receiving end of a thrashing by rivals Atletico Madrid.

Atletico won the Madrid derby 7-3 in New Jersey and Hazard played an hour before being substituted when the score was 6-1.

"Good riddance Hazard, it shows shows you how quick things can turn” one Chelsea fan wrote.

"Well, this is a nightmare Eden, get out now while you still have your dignity,” said another.

"We love you still but you made the wrong decision,” wrote another.

"Never too soon to come back by the way,” said a more sympathetic Chelsea fan.

And another wrote: “Eden you don’t deserve this, just come back”.
