LIVERPOOL have had a quiet summer in the transfer market so far - but what can we expect to happen before deadline day?

Liverpool splashed the cash in 2018 with Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Fabinho and Naby Keita all arriving for big money.

They ultimately proved worthwhile investments as the Reds went agonisingly close to winning the Premier League before going all the way in Europe.

But only one new face has arrived so far this summer - 17-year-old defender Sepp van der Berg.

Liverpool say they won't do a major deal - but is there a worry about Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino burning out after a busy summer for their countries?

I think there is certainly some concern from Jurgen Klopp about the amount of games his players are being put through.

He is upset with the international schedules and feels the demands on all professionals now is too high which he reckons will affect the game in the future.

This season will be gruelling for the Reds with seven trophies up for grabs and you may see more rotation on the front three than last season.

Klopp is not in the market for a major signing because not only does he believe they need to add one, he also knows convincing a good player to move to Anfield to sit on the bench is difficult.

There is worry but Liverpool are confident they can manage their front three to get the best out of them.

Who will Klopp look to for cover for his front three? Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster are different players in style, could that be a problem?

Rhian Brewster will get plenty of time off the bench this season and Xherdan Shaqiri will be used too.

But this is a big season for Divock Origi after his Champions League heroics last term.

Origi has now made himself not just an option off the bench, but a player who can start if any of the front three need a rest.

He will have to be more consistent but his re-emergence along with Brewster coming through is why Daniel Sturridge is not being replaced.

These three may be different in style but Liverpool showed last season they can adapt and Klopp is keen for Brewster to learn from Firmino.

Who could leave? Youngsters on loan, or any senior players such as Simon Mignolet?

There will be some departures from Liverpool this summer but no major ones.

Ryan Kent and Harry Wilson are expected to go back out on loan, the latter may even leave on a permanent deal.

Simon Mignolet is set to stay at Anfield despite speculation over his future.

He wants to play more but is also enjoying working with Alisson and under Klopp.

The Liverpool manager does not want to lose Mignolet as he is a good back-up option but also does not cause any issues in the background when not playing.

Nathaniel Clyne was expected to leave on a permanent deal if a buyer could be found, but his knee injury means that is dead in the water.

Ben Woodburn may leave on loan.

Are Liverpool interested in Nicolas Pepe?

The constant links to Pepe has left Anfield officials absolutely baffled.

They have zero interest in the Lille player and find it bizarre they are continually linked to him.

Last month, Liverpool's sporting director Michael Edwards spoke to Lille manager Christophe Galtier, informing him the European champions have no interest in the Ivory Coast international.

Fans on social media certainly don’t believe it but it is true.

Pepe will not be a Liverpool player.
