According to Bild, Arsenal have been monitoring Weigl's situation as Unai Emery is desperate to bolster his side's patchy defence.

The German, 23, who can also play as centre-back, became a regular starter for Dortmund in the second part of last season.

And the Bundesliga runners-up will reportedly only consider parting ways with their ace if the Gunners are willing to pay £27m for him.

Which is more than double the reported £50m Emery has to spend this summer transfer window.

In addition, Weigl has also been on PSG's radar with Thomas Tuchel, a former Dortmund coach, keen on reuniting with the German international at Parc des Princes.

The versatile midfielder played 25 games in all competitions last season, scoring one goal.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been in advanced talks with St Etienne centre-back William Saliba and Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney.

And the French prospect is believed to be on the verge of signing for the Gunners in a £23m deal.

Emery also hopes the Gunners will finally be able to offload flop Shkodran Mustafi, who has been on their transfer list since the year he arrived at the Emirates.

And SunSport told you that Arsenal are set to lose their wonderkid Krystian Bielik, who wants to leave the club in search of more first-team opportunities.
