ARGENTINA put up a spirited show against England at the Women's World Cup - with goalkeeper Vanina Correa earning special praise for a stunning display between the posts.
Correa pulled off a string of stunning saves as Argentina dug in against the Lionesses.
England were big favourites to win, but their South American opponents dug in and made it tough for Phil Neville's side.
They eventually found a breakthrough on the hour mark when Jodie Taylor found a way past Correa.
England dispossessed Argentina on the edge of their own area before composed passing helped work their way into the South Americans' final third.
Fran Kirby fed a pass to Beth Mead on the left side of the penalty area and the forward slid a first-time low cross to find the unmarked Taylor to tap into an empty net.
But that was to be the only time they could find a way past Correa as they made it two wins from two with a 1-0 win following their 2-1 success over Scotland.
Correa saved a first-half penalty from Nikita Parris, and pulled off a string of other fine stops to keep England at bay.
Her impressive performance prompted a series of tweets hailing the performance.

Another posted: "Massive, massive respect for Vanina Correa."
Fans in Argentina were so impressed they called for men's national team coach Lionel Scaloni to put her in his Copa America squad.
"Scaloni, get Armani out and put Vanina Correa in the bow," tweeted one.

Another wrote: "Scaloni would have to take Vanina Correa as a replacement for Andrada... Tremendous."
Neville was full of praise for Correa after watching his side book their place in the knockout stages ahead of their final group game against Japan on Wednesday night.
"It should have been more but I stood in the warm up and saw their goalkeeper and she was unbelievable even in the warm up," he said.
"If you're like that before the game you're not always like that in the game but she was outstanding.
"What you've seen tonight is an unbelievable goalkeeping performance."
