Leeds United vs Wigan Athletic - Leeds set to be unchanged against Wigan
Posted Wednesday, April 17, 2019 by PA
Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa expects to name an unchanged side for the clash with Wigan at Elland Road.
Centre-back Liam Cooper is still struggling to recover from the muscle strain he sustained in the build-up to Saturday’s win over Sheffield Wednesday.
But Bielsa reported no new injury problems for the game and will look to keep changes to a minimum as Leeds look to cement their position in the Championship automatic-promotion places.
Bielsa is already without left-back Barry Douglas, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Wigan boss Paul Cook could be without defender Danny Fox as his side look to boost their survival hopes.
Fox limped off midway through his side’s battling 1-1 draw with leaders Norwich on Sunday and will face a late test.
Midfielder Nick Powell could return to the Latics’ starting line-up after being reintroduced from the bench against the Canaries following a recent injury scare.
Anthony Pilkington remains a doubt while Gary Roberts (calf), Callum McManaman (hernia) and Michael Jacobs (hamstring) are all still ruled out.
