AFC Fylde slip up at relegated Braintree

AFC Fylde’s promotion push suffered a setback after a 2-1 defeat to already-relegated Braintree.
The Iron took an unlikely lead in the 33rd minute through Mo Sagaf’s perfectly placed free-kick.
Fylde were fortunate not to be two down after 53 minutes when Robert Atkinson’s header hit the bar, before Korrey Henry fired over from the rebound.
Henry then missed a penalty for Braintree but his blushes were spared by Courtney Richards tapping home the rebound in the 79th minute.
Jordan Tunnicliffe turned home Danny Rowe’s cross to pull one back for the Coasters in the 86th minute, but there was not enough time to prevent a defeat which sees them slip to fifth.
