Tyler Walker on target for Stags

Tyler Walker’s 24th goal of the season fired Mansfield back into the automatic promotion places with a nervy 1-0 win at home to struggling Cambridge.
A scrappy first half saw little goalmouth action.
Conrad Logan made the only save of the half in the 28th minute as he punched away a shot from Brad Halliday after he had been found by Jake Doyle-Hayes’ pass.
A rooted Logan was also relieved to see a low shot from Doyle-Hayes go wide for a corner after it took a nasty deflection off defender Ben Turner.
Halliday appeared fortunate when his hand halted Mal Benning’s advance into the box but no penalty was given, much to the home side’s anger.
But Mansfield finally went ahead after 63 minutes as Gary Deegan allowed Jacob Mellis to take the ball off him and set up Walker to his left for an unstoppable low finish.
It still took a last-minute save by Logan, denying Jevani Brown with his knees, to preserve the three points.
