Late Williams strike keeps Solihull Moors in hunt for promotion
Posted Sunday, March 31, 2019 by PA
Ten-man Solihull Moors needed an injury-time goal from Tyrone Williams to earn a 2-2 draw with Dover and keep their National League promotion bid on track.
Alfie Pavey poked Dover into an early lead but Solihull restored order seven minutes before half-time through Danny Wright’s close-range finish.
Parity, however, did not even last until the break as Scott Doe restored the visitors’ lead, with Moors reduced to 10 men shortly after half-time when Liam Daly received his second yellow card.
There was a late twist, though, as Williams’ scrappy goal – his first since April 10 last year – secured a point to leave Moors two points behind leaders Leyton Orient, who have two games in hand.
