Chelsea goalscorer Pedro reveals why he’s ‘sad’ after Europa League thrashing

PEDRO revealed he didn’t have a perfect night for Chelsea despite helping the club beat Dynamo Kiev 3-0 in the Europa League.

The hosts cruised to a dominant win over the Ukrainian side, with Pedro himself opening the scoring in the 17th minute.

Willian doubled the club’s tally in the 65th minute before Callum Hudson-Odoi added a third in the closing stages of the game.

Maurizio Sarri’s side should be happy with a 3-0 aggregate lead heading into their second leg next week in Kiev.

However, goalscorer Pedro wasn’t totally over the moon with his own performance on the night.

He had more opportunities to score, with Chelsea manufacturing a total of 12 shots throughout the 90 minutes.

It was for this reason that he left Stamford Bridge not completely content with his night’s work.

"It feels good I'm so happy for the team work today and the win was so important and in this competition,” Pedro said.

"I am happy with the goal but sad with the misses but the most important thing is the result.

"We have 90 minutes in Kiev and it will be difficult, the game is not closed. But it was a good night for us.”

The victory over Kiev was Chelsea’s third win in their last three games in all competitions.

They claimed an impressive 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the Premier League last week to close the gap on the north London club in the table.

Sarri’s side also beat Fulham 2-1 at the weekend to help firmly end the poor run of form the Blues have endured recently.

After the match against Kiev, Pedro mentioned the club’s recent results with hopes they can build on them going into the weekend.

"We want to continue this feeling and confidence,” he added.

"It's good for the players, the team and the supporters. From now on every game is a final."

Chelsea take on Wolves on Sunday in the Premier League as they look to keep up the hunt for a top four spot.
