If there was any doubt that Mauro Icardi's time at Inter could be drawing to a close, it may just have been consolidated via a rather unambiguous message sent to him by Nerazzurri fans.
As Inter were hosting Sampdoria at the San Siro om Sunday, flyers were disseminated specifically aimed at the Argentine.
"Many players have been lucky enough to wear our shirt, some of whom are legends: others remained nothing but professionals," said an extract of the message
"That's why we don't forget the likes of Walter Zenga, Nicola Berti, Ivan Zamorano, Julio Cruz, Diego Simeone, Marco Materazzi, Samuel Eto'o. Not all were champions or saints but they were all men," continued the message.
"It's a matter of respect and love for the shirt and for a club that is part of the history of football," read another part.
As for the game itself, the forward was not missed as the home side run out 2-1 winners, which must have been an even sweeter taste in the mouths of the owners and the fans as Icardi continues to stall on a new contract.
