Bristol City vs Wolves - Weimann doubtful as Bristol prepare to face Wolves

Andreas Weimann is a doubt for in-form Bristol City’s FA Cup fifth-round clash with Wolves on Sunday.

The forward has been nursing a back problem that forced him off early in Tuesday’s 2-1 Championship win over QPR, the Robins’ ninth straight victory in all competitions.

Boss Lee Johnson on Thursday said that in addition, a “quite important” player who he would not name was “not quite right.”

Liam Walsh and Marley Watkins, who have been nearing comebacks after knee and ankle injuries respectively, could be involved in the tie at Ashton Gate. Korey Smith (knee) remains sidelined and Antoine Semenyo is cup-tied.

Wolves will check on the fitness of Diogo Jota ahead of their trip to Bristol City.

The Portuguese attacker has been nursing a dead leg recently and he is a slight injury concern for the fifth-round clash at Ashton Gate.

John Ruddy has played in all of Wolves’ cup games this season.

He is set to replace Rui Patricio in goal once more.
