Lorenzo Insigne to Liverpool latest

Liverpool have not made an offer for Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne - but they have approached the Italian club about a deal.

Football communications consultant Ian McGarry revealed the news on the latest episode of The Transfer Window podcast.

He said: "I've spoken to some people that I know at Liverpool who said there was no bid.

"It was simply an enquiry as to whether he might be available in the summer as clubs do once the January window closes, they start looking at a strategy for the summer."

Man Utd ruin Dayot Upamecano deal

Manchester United bungled an attempt to sign RB Leipzig star Dayot Upamecano when he was just a youngster.

The centre-back is now rated as one of Europe's most promising stars, but he could have been on the books at Old Trafford - had they not messed it up.

United allegedly guaranteed the Frenchman his own flat if he agreed to move to the Premier League giants.

They then reneged on the deal and asked him to live with a host family, prompting Upamecano's camp to pull the plug on the deal.

Arsenal and Tottenham want German star

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham could be set for a summer battle over Germany centre-back Matthias Ginter.

Arsenal need reinfocements at the back too, and the Gunners could launch their own raid for the ex-Borussia Dortmund man.
