Man Utd talks revelation

Manchester United have held talks with an agent regarding their transfer plans going forward, journalist Andy Mitten has revealed.

"I know an agent who met Man City and Man United on the same day," Mitten told the Beyond the Pitch podcast.

"He's got good players this lad. He said City were very specific about what they wanted in each position for the next year and two years.

"And he went to United and it was all about names.

"It was all: 'if we have five Galatico-style players, that's how you win the European Cup'."

Chelsea plotting

Chelsea will be looking into options as they prepare to replace misfiring striker Alvaro Morata, according to Jamie Carragher.

"I can see he has great ability but he also strikes me as an opponent whom a good defender can dominate," Carragher told The Telegraph.

"You can sense his belief slipping with every lost confrontation, and when he starts hitting the deck in challenges well away from the penalty area, then you really know his appetite is slipping.

"The reality is I do not think that Morata will ever click at Chelsea, and I am sure the club think that too. They have to be looking now for a new option next season."

Liverpool chase on

Liverpool have reportedly intensified their interest in Toulouse prospect Jean-Clair Todibo following Joe Gomez’s injury blow.

Gomez is facing more than a month on the sidelines after fracturing his ankle and Jurgen Klopp will be in no mood to rush him back.

And the England international’s injury might mean Liverpool splash the cash to bolster their defence in the January transfer window.

Tuttosport indicate Todibo is in the Reds’ sights, with Manchester United and Juventus also sniffing around the 18-year-old.

Arsenal in £20m pursuit

Arsenal could reportedly scrap it out with Manchester United for Galatasaray ace Ozan Kabak.

Both Premier League giants are said to have jetted in personnel to make checks on the highly-rated 18-year-old.

And Galatasaray are facing a fight to keep hold of him with Roma and Inter Milan joining Arsenal and United in tracking him.

The Sun have claimed Galatasaray would strike a deal for Kabak for £20m, although elsewhere it is claimed he has a bargain £7m release clause for clubs outside of Turkey

Fergie gets final say

Sir Alex Ferguson could have the final say on whether Paul Pogba is sold in January, according to former Red Devils defender Derek Brazil.

He told Love Sport: “If they're going to get rid of Jose at the end of the season, are they really going to let him spend £150million in January?

"But I think against Arsenal the players went out and put a shift in.

"However - and I will stick up for Pogba or Lukaku and I have done in the past - even in the last 15 minutes when Pogba came on and I was saying 'go on, prove your worth now' and he just looked disinterested.

"He's one of those players that Jose would like to get shot of in January if he could. The word is he's a bit of a bad egg at the moment.

"Mourinho has got a lot of pull at Manchester United. People forget that Alex Ferguson has got a big say at the club still and I think he's a big ally of Mourinho.”

Andre Gomes deal

Everton manager Marco Silva says the permanent signing of Barcelona loanee Andre Gomes is out of his hands.

Gomes, 25, has taken the Premier League by storm with a number of accomplished displays for the Toffees.

Everton are keen to sign the Portuguese midfielder - but it’s unclear whether Barcelona will sell.

Silva told Sky Sports: "He's enjoyed his first two months but let's see what we can do. We are working on that, I don't know if I have answer in one week or two weeks.

"It is not something that it is in our hands. The best scenario to look at is - it is not just in our hands as a club, not just in the hands of Andre, there is a third party as well. Barcelona are included, let's see when we can talk about the situation."

Deal agreed: Noam Emeran

Manchester United have beaten Juventus, Valencia and PSG to the signing of Amiens wonderkid Noam Emeran.

That’s according to French media outlet RMC, who report that 16-year-old striker will officially sign for United in the next few weeks.

It’s said that Jose Mourinho’s side will pay an initial €2million (£1.7m) that could potentially rise to €10m (£8.9m).

Amiens have also included a sell-on clause that will entitle them to a percentage of any transfer fee United receive for Emeran in the future.

Wanted: Liverpool pair

AC Milan have dropped their interest in Zlatan Ibrahimovic to focus on two Liverpool forwards.

Zlatan, 37, was in advanced talks to spend a second spell at the San Siro - but negotiations broke down with Corriere dello Sport claiming AC Milan were worried about his fitness.

The Italian newspaper says sporting director Leonardo is now looking for alternatives.

And Liverpool duo Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge are on his radar.

Wanted: Mauricio Pochettino

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to spend as much as £40million to poach Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as a replacement for Jose Mourinho.

Jose Mourinho's men sit eighth in the league and eight points off the Champions League spots after the entertaining draw with Arsenal.

And now according to The Sun, United chiefs have decided the Argentine is the only man they want to succeed Mourinho.

The report suggests it could cost the Red Devils as much as £40m to prise Pochettino from north London.

United would also likely face competition from Real Madrid, who are seeking a long-term replacement for Julen Lopetegui, although Santiago Solari is currently in the hot-seat.

Paul Pogba swap deal

Barcelona offered Manchester United two players in return for Paul Pogba this summer, journalist Duncan Castle says.

The Spanish giants were desperate to sign Pogba with their captain Gerard Pique even publicly appealing for the midfielder to sign.

But the bid didn’t cut it with Old Trafford chiefs who ‘laughed’ at Barcelona’s offer.

"The best offer that was proposed was Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes in exchange for Paul Pogba by Barcelona, which Manchester United understandably laughed out of court,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.

Frenkie de Jong to PSG

PSG will win the battle to sign Dutch international Frenkie de Jong.

That’s according to De Telegraaf, who report that PSG have struck a £67million agreement with Ajax.

De Jong, 21, had attracted interest from Barcelona, Manchester City, Tottenham and Real Madrid, who had viewed the midfielder as a successor to 2018 Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modric.

But PSG look to have beaten off the competition with an Eredivisie transfer record fee.

The French champions will pay £67m (£25m more than Davinson Sanchez’s move to Spurs) with around £10m going to De Jong’s former club, Willem II.

Harry Wilson loan

Liverpool will NOT recall Harry Wilson from his loan spell at Derby.

Recent reports have claimed that Anfield bosses have the option to bring the 21-year-old winger back in January.

But The Telegraph reporter John Percy says that Liverpool are pleased with Wilson’s development under Frank Lampard, and his prominent role in the side.

Wilson has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 18 appearances.

Alexis…

The Independent say Manchester United have decided to send Alexis Sanchez back to Chile in the hope that time in his own country will do him the world of good.

The player supposedly wants to leave when the transfer window reopens in January.

He reportedly feels he was sold false promises by Mourinho, who had guaranteed him a starring role.

He faces six weeks out and is still affected by the break-up of a relationship with Mayte Rodriguez.

And United feel that, by going back to Chile, Sanchez will be given the time to recover both mentally and physically.

It also means he will be able to spend Christmas with his family.

Lukaku could be on his way out at Man Utd

The striker has grown frustrated with Jose Mourinho over a lack of playing time

Romelu Lukaku is the latest Manchester United player to grow frustrated with Jose Mourinho, with The Sun reporting the Belgian is considering his future.

Once an automatic starter at Old Trafford, Lukaku has seen his role reduced in recent weeks as he has struggled to find the back of the net.

If his lack of playing time continues, the 25-year-old feels he will be forced to consider a move away from United.
