Andy Cook suspended as Walsall face Coventry

Walsall will be without striker Andy Cook for their match against Coventry at the Banks’s Stadium on Saturday.

Cook will miss the game serving a one-match suspension and will be eligible for Walsall’s FA Cup replay against Sunderland.

Wolves loanee Connor Johnson impressed in last week’s FA Cup draw with the Black Cats and could return to the heart of the defence after missing the Checkatrade trophy defeat to Shrewsbury through suspension.

Manager Dean Keates started with a back three against the Shropshire club and may decide to revert back to his regular system after losing 2-1.

Coventry boss Mark Robins could welcome back a number of players for their first match since defeat against Fleetwood on November 27.

On-loan Chelsea defender Dujon Sterling could return for Coventry. The teenage defender has not played for more than a month because of ankle ligament damage.

Max Biamou has returned to the training ground and is working with physios to try and recover from an ACL injury sustained against Blackpool in August, but has not set a date for his return.

Coventry have also recalled Reise Allassani from his loan spell at Ebbsfleet United.
