Carl McHugh is suspended for Motherwell’s Ladbrokes Premiership clash with St Johnstone at Fir Park on Saturday.
The defender was sent off in the 1-1 draw against Livingston before the international break.
Liam Donnelly is a doubt with a groin injury and will be assessed while Charles Dunne (groin) and Elliot Frear (knock) started training this week. Craig Tanner (knee) and Alex Gorrin (knock) are still out, however.
Midfielder Murray Davidson returns to the St Johnstone squad after eight weeks out with an ankle injury but might not start because of a lack of match fitness.
Striker Tony Watt has trained every day during the international break after sitting out the defeat by Celtic with a foot knock, which has improved.
Steven Anderson misses out with a knee strain and Danny Swanson begins a two-match ban but David Wotherspoon should overcome a hip problem to feature. Left-back Brian Easton has had an injection on a long-standing groin problem after seeing a specialist.
