Adam Rooney’s hat-trick earned Vanarama National League leaders Salford a 4-1 win at Dover as the experienced striker took his total for the season to 12 goals.
Rooney opened the scoring after 18 minutes when he finished off Danny Lloyd’s pass by firing into the bottom corner.
Two minutes later the former Abeerden striker headed into the bottom corner from Scott Wiseman’s cross to make it 2-0, but six minutes after the break Bedsente Gomis pulled one back for the visitors when he bundled over a cross from the right.
Rooney completed his hat-trick as he steered the ball home after getting a touch to Carl Piergianni’s cross, before the latter made it 4-1 when he headed in from another Lloyd assist.
