Man Utd boss Mourinho turns to Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is eyeing Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez.

Mourinho was desperate to boost his centre-half options this summer and remains eager to make a defensive signing in January.

France Football says Mourinho's search has led him to Lucas.

The France international's contract carries a buyout clause of €80m - which was met by Real Madrid this summer. However, Lucas turned down Real's approach.

Now Mourinho has come forward for the World Cup winner, though for the moment it's suggested Lucas is happy at the Metropolitano.
