Wilfried Zaha sent a message to his Crystal Palace teammates amid interest from Chelsea

After a fantastic 2017/18 season for Crystal Palace, Wilfried Zaha is a man in demand.

Roy Hodgson converted the Ivory Coast international from a winger to the focal point of the Eagles' attack, and it seemed to pay dividends as Palace climbed away from relegation danger.

Nine goals in 29 Premier League games has seen the vultures circling for Zaha's signature, who only signed a new deal until 2022 last summer.

But as football fans have learnt in the past, contracts don't mean everything, and once a big team comes calling for a big fish in a small pond, heads can be turned.

The club that have seemingly shown the most interest in Zaha in the past few months is Chelsea, who could be looking to bolster their attacking ranks in the final days of the transfer window.

With Alvaro Morata woefully inconsistent and Willian constantly being linked with a transfer away from Stamford Bridge, the Daily Mail's Simon Jones claims that Zaha is top of Maurizio Sarri's agenda with just four days to do a deal.

Palace chairman Steve Parish has set a huge price-tag on his hottest property, and so far no-one has stepped forward to match that.

Shockingly though, Zaha has told his teammates that there is 'an offer for him to leave Selhurst Park', which reads as a major blow to Palace supporters.

But they shouldn't worry too much yet, as the club have no pressure to sell the Ivorian should the Blues not come close to the £70 million Parish wants as he's tied down to a long-term contract.

Zaha made his feelings clear to the Palace hierarchy though earlier in the summer by turning down a new contract with improved wages, clearly setting his sights at a move higher up in the Premier League table.

A cryptic Instagram posted by Zaha last week stating: "Today is the day I make a change with everything..” added further fuel to the fire, also removing 'Crystal Palace' from his bio.

Sarri is desperate for reinforcements though after his late arrival in West London, and capturing Zaha would be a perfect way to start.
