Montrose took advantage of Peterhead’s slip-up to move level on points with them at the top of the Ladbrokes League Two table.
Peterhead were beaten 2-1 at home by Stenhousemuir and Montrose cashed in with a 2-1 victory over Annan to join Peterhead on 58 points with a game in hand.
Chris Templeman was the Montrose hero with both goals either side of Scott Roberts’ leveller for Annan.
Mark McGuigan and Colin McMenamin had Stenhousemuir 2-0 to the good after 31 minutes against Peterhead and although Rory McAllister got the home side on the board with 10 minutes to go, they could not find an equaliser.
Andy Little’s first-half strike saw Stirling win 1-0 at Berwick, while Clyde ran out 1-0 winners over Elgin through David Goodwillie’s strike.
Edinburgh and Cowdenbeath drew 1-1, Graham Taylor’s opener cancelled out late on by David Cox.
